Dear Chief Jennings,
I first want to thank you for all you do to keep Charlotte safe. That's no small feat!
Next, I'm writing to express my frustration about the loud cars with illegally modified exhaust pipes zooming around Uptown. As a resident here, the noise is just outrageous and I believe that by simply issuing more citations for those exhaust pipes, we can deter those motorists from coming here altogether.
May I ask: Do you have any plans to tackle this issue? And if not, would you consider forming some? Thanks so much in advance.
Sincerely,
Dear Chief Jennings,
I don't normally write to the police chief, but the issue of loud cars and motorcycles driving without mufflers has become so annoying that I feel like I need to reach out. I've heard that the laws are already in place to fine these people, so it should be possible to issue citations on a Friday or Saturday night when they're all out. Now that the weather is warming up, this problem is becoming bigger and bigger. Do you have any plans to deter these people?
Sincerely,
Dear Chief Jennings,
I first want to say how grateful I am for all you do! Charlotte is a tough place to be an officer, so you deserve some major kudos for your service.
I'm writing to ask if you have any plans to push back against all the motorists with those loud muffler cutouts. Even when they're not speeding, the noise is just unbearable. I wonder if you have plans to issue citations for their illegal modifications so you can at least make it more expensive for them to drive around. Is this something you can add to protocol? Thanks in advance for your help.
Sincerely,
